Students at the Center for Environmental Modeling (CEM) are introduced to the development of models, data analysis methods, and decision support systems. The program integrates environmental systems, economics, and social issues, and emphasizes mathematical, natural science, and informatics approaches.

With various teaching formats—including lectures, seminars, exercises, and a high practical component—students are involved in research activities from the outset.

Students can choose from three specializations: process- and system-oriented environmental modeling, statistical environmental modeling, and environmental informatics. Additionally, the program includes a contact internship or research project (12 KP) to explore future career opportunities.
