PhD in Urbeur – Studi Urbani

With access to the e-learning platform, the doctoral programme URBEUR-STUDI URBANI at the University of Milano-Bicocca provides an extensive and interdisciplinary PhD in urban studies; it is coordinated by Prof. Matteo Colleoni and has collaborations with institutions like the University of Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Berlin.

The curriculum covers methodology in urban studies, city policies and politics, city and culture, and city and economy. The programme is renowned for its international partnerships, with notable alumni working in universities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Grenoble, as well as cultural institutions and research centres.

Almost two-thirds of graduates have found placements in academia, both in Italy and internationally, with the remainder continuing research in public or private institutions or in institutional leadership roles.
