Through the Drei-Säulen-Modell, the Bachelor in Versicherungswirtschaft at FH Dortmund combines a Bachelor of Science in Insurance Economics with vocational training as a Commercial Insurance and Finance Professional. This dual program is structured with the Fachhochschule Dortmund, insurance companies, and Berufsbildungswerk der Versicherungswirtschaft in Dortmund e.V.

Students spend two days a week at FH Dortmund and the rest at partner companies including Continentale, Ecclesia Gruppe, and LVM Versicherungen, among others. They undergo extensive training in insurance mathematics, marketing, risk management, and more, completing an industry-recognised apprenticeship after five semesters and a Bachelor thesis in the final semester.
