Bachelor in Voice studies

Voice studies at the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz is a bachelor's programme taught in English, offered by the Faculty of Vocal and Acting Performance over four years as a first-cycle, full-time programme with a major in vocal and acting performance. The programme is addressed to graduates of secondary schools, including high schools, technical schools, and music schools, who have passed their secondary school exams, show vocal and acting aptitude, and want to develop their skills further. It is aimed at talented graduates of general and music secondary schools who combine musical ability with intellectual capability. The first-cycle studies prepare students for work in professions directly connected to singing, particularly in music theatres, and completion of the programme allows graduates to work in cultural institutions, organise events, lead concerts, and work with young people through artistic classes. Students who also take the parallel Pedagogical Study gain pedagogical qualifications in line with the standards required to work as a teacher. Graduates of the programme gain theoretical knowledge and skills that let them develop and carry out their own artistic ideas, along with knowledge of music history and familiarity with music styles, related performance traditions, and representative vocal repertoire, as well as the ability to exercise vocal technique effectively. Voice studies programmes of this kind combine individual vocal training with ensemble and stagecraft work, preparing singers for performance careers as well as teaching roles. Graduates commonly pursue work as performers in music theatres and concert settings, as teachers within schools and private instruction, and in roles organising cultural events and artistic programmes for young people, drawing on both the performance and pedagogical strands of their four years of study.
