At Sheffield Hallam University, tuition is 18,000 GBP per year.

Animation is the art of breathing life into the static, bridging the gap between imagination and perception through motion, timing, and performance. This programme places you at the heart of this creative process, offering a comprehensive exploration of 2D, stop-motion, and 3D techniques within a vibrant, studio-based environment. Designed for aspiring animators who want to master both the technical rigour and the narrative depth of the medium, the course encourages you to find your unique visual voice while adapting to the rapidly changing demands of the contemporary creative industries.

By starting with a foundation year, you gain the essential creative, practical, and academic grounding required for degree-level success. You will work alongside peers from diverse creative disciplines, fostering a collaborative mindset that is crucial in professional animation studios. The curriculum is built on a philosophy of experimentation, where risk-taking is encouraged, and your development as an independent practitioner is supported by expert tutors, industry-standard facilities, and live project briefs that connect your academic work directly to the professional world.
