Sheffield Hallam University is recognised for its TEF Gold rated teaching and strong commitment to employability, frequently ranking among the top universities for student experience. This programme is designed to bridge the gap for students who possess a passion for technology but may not initially meet the standard entry requirements for a direct honours degree. By incorporating a dedicated foundation year, the course ensures you build a robust base in academic, computing, and IT skills before progressing into the core curriculum.

The course focuses on the practical application of computation, equipping you with the analytical and mathematical rigour required to engineer the software systems that power the modern world. You will engage with complex software development through a hands-on approach that blends theoretical principles with real-world problem-solving.

Industry-Aligned Professional Development

A distinctive feature of this programme is its deep integration with industry. Beyond gaining BCS accreditation, you will participate in live projects, often working directly with external clients to solve genuine technical challenges. This professional focus is complemented by the optional year-long work placement, supported by a dedicated college team, ensuring you graduate with both a degree and a proven track record in the software industry.
