Graduates from this programme are well-prepared for impactful careers across the criminal and social justice sectors, including roles in policing, probation, prison services, victim support, and community advocacy. Many alumni leverage the strong links to the Helena Kennedy Centre for International Justice to pursue further professional training or specialize in areas such as human rights, policy development, and social enterprise.

This course moves beyond the classroom to examine the real-world applications of criminology. It is designed for students eager to engage with contemporary debates on social harm, global human rights, and the evolving nature of crime. By investigating complex issues—such as the relationship between climate change and criminal behaviour or the systemic challenges of prison reform—you will develop the analytical tools necessary to drive positive social change.
