Master in BEng Honours Software Engineering

Tuition is 18,900 GBP per year.

Software engineering is the bridge between abstract computational theory and the tangible technologies that power modern society. This BEng (Honours) programme is designed for those who want to master the craft of building scalable, high-quality digital infrastructure—from mobile applications and web systems to complex, intelligent software solutions.

You will move beyond mere coding, learning to navigate the full lifecycle of software development: requirements analysis, architecture, testing, and deployment. The curriculum is deeply rooted in applied learning, ensuring that you don't just study software engineering in a classroom, but practice it in environments that mirror professional industry standards.

Applied Industry Integration

What sets this degree apart is its intense focus on real-world application. You will work on live client projects, tackling genuine business problems for industry partners, which helps you build a professional portfolio before you even graduate. Supported by a faculty with deep research and commercial expertise, you will gain hands-on experience in:

• Advanced programming languages including C#, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Emerging fields like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics.
• Professional software methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.

With an optional year-long work placement, you have the opportunity to gain an Applied Professional Diploma and cement your connections with major employers like IBM, Intel, and Nissan. By the end of this journey, you will have developed your own software product, ready to transition from a student into a skilled, industry-ready software engineer.
