Academy Collision Repair

The Academy Collision Repair program at UCOL is designed for secondary school learners interested in automotive panel and paint. This Level 2 program offers a hands-on introduction to the collision repair industry, allowing students to gain practical skills while working towards NCEA Level 2 credits. Ideal for students who are curious about automotive careers, this program provides a supportive environment to explore their interests.

Students will learn essential skills such as masking, sanding, and repairing minor panel damage. The curriculum covers the operation of petrol and diesel engines, health and safety practices, and the use of tools and equipment in the collision repair industry. This practical experience equips students with the foundational knowledge needed to pursue further studies or entry-level positions in automotive repair.

Graduates of the Academy Collision Repair program can explore various career pathways, including roles as Automotive Technicians, Collision Repair Specialists, or Automotive Refinishing Technicians.
