Accelerated Paid Learning Program for PSSP

This certificate programme prepares students to become Personal Support Workers (PSW). It leads to PSW certification and qualifies graduates to work in long-term care and community care settings. The programme includes classroom instruction and supervised clinical practice. Students gain hands-on experience while working in their current long-term care workplace.

20 weeks total: 12 weeks of theoretical and practical courses, followed by 8 weeks of paid clinical placement. Courses are delivered full-time online via Zoom.

Graduates are qualified to work as Personal Support Workers in long-term care and community care settings.

Must be employed full-time or part-time in an Ontario long-term care facility. Must have an Ontario high school diploma or equivalent, or be an adult candidate. Must have one credit each in French and English. Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. International students with work or study permits may be eligible after status review.

Online (Zoom), full-time, 20 weeks.
