    About the Program

A blended delivery format combines a weekly one-hour online live lecture with a monthly on-campus laboratory session, giving students regular contact with both theory and hands-on practice. The programme’s structure allows technicians to continue working while developing practical skills with PLC and PAC systems, sensors and actuators in a dedicated lab environment.

The core module, Advanced Energy Management and Efficiency, covers real-time energy control using PLC clocks, motor efficiency classes (IE1-IE6), IO-Link-based monitoring of pneumatic systems, and the comparison of pneumatic versus electric actuation. Students apply these technologies in laboratory exercises, analyse historical and real-time energy data, and carry out energy audits aligned with ISO 50001 principles.

Targeted at technicians in industrial and manufacturing settings, the course builds analytical capability to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements that support United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Graduates are prepared for roles that require optimisation of energy performance and integration of sustainability into automation processes.
