Certified 'Journeyman' Papers

At Lethbridge Polytechnic, tuition is CAD 1,024 per year.

This program leads to certification as a journeyman agricultural equipment technician. It covers diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems on farm machinery. Work done keeps equipment running well during harvest. This helps reduce downtime on farms. The role supports Alberta's agriculture industry.

The four-year program includes 80 percent time on the job with qualified technicians. The other 20 percent is classroom training each year at Lethbridge Polytechnic. Training uses hands-on labs. Work takes place in the Western Tractor Technology lab with AGCO equipment. Assessments include practical exams and real-world problem-solving tasks.

Classes start in late August. The program requires 6,240 hours of on-the-job training. Admission needs English 20-1 or 20-2, Math 20-1, 20-2 or 20-3, and Science 10. A GED pass or passing the Apprenticeship Entrance exam also qualifies. International students cannot join this program.
