Master in Applied AI for Digital Production Management, MEng

Applied AI for Digital Production Management is a three-semester master's programme at Deggendorf Institute of Technology focused on the analysis and application of big data within industrial and manufacturing contexts. The curriculum integrates machine learning, data analysis, data management, and intelligent systems, and includes a module in Advanced Statistical Methods and Optimisation to address AI demands in production, logistics, and technology management. Three applied case studies in AI, intelligent systems in production, and production systems, each supervised by engineers from manufacturing companies, bridge theoretical learning and practical problem-solving. The programme is structured as a combination of lectures, seminars, and case studies, with small study groups providing close instruction. Students have access to science labs equipped for high-tech AI work. Compulsory German language lessons are integrated into the curriculum, preparing students for employment in Germany after graduation. The programme accepts entries in both the winter and summer semesters. First-semester modules cover machine learning and deep learning in production and logistics, advanced statistical methods, data management, production and logistics management, and digital tools in development. The second semester continues with technology and innovation management, advanced intelligent systems, digital production systems, and a subject-related elective. The third semester focuses on quality and sustainability and concludes with the Master's thesis and seminar, including a Career Start into German Technology Companies seminar series.
