Master in Art and design

The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław offers this MFA in Visual Arts, an English-taught master's program lasting four semesters, or two years. Yearly tuition is 4000 EUR. The program is multi-directional, run jointly across all of the Academy's faculties, and built around an individual educational path shaped to each student's interests and abilities rather than a single fixed track. Starting from the 2022/23 academic year, the Academy has also offered one additional place within a double-diploma path run in partnership with Tokyo University of the Arts in Japan, aimed at students specializing in printmaking. Students admitted to that track complete two semesters of study in Poland and two semesters at Tokyo Geidai, and on meeting the requirements of both institutions they receive two separate diplomas: an MFA in Visual Arts from the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy and an MFA in Printmaking from Tokyo University of the Arts. Visual arts study at the MFA level typically involves independent studio practice supported by faculty across painting, printmaking, sculpture, and related media, alongside critique, exhibition preparation, and development of a personal artistic language. Graduates of MFA programs in visual arts commonly go on to work as practicing artists, exhibit in galleries, teach at art schools, or pursue further doctoral study in fine arts. Wrocław has a long-standing academy of art and design tradition, and the Geppert Academy's faculty structure spans multiple disciplines within the visual arts, giving students within the standard MFA track access to instruction and critique from across those areas even without pursuing the Tokyo double-diploma option.
