Bachelor in Arts

This bachelor's program in Arts, offered under the Film Directing & Video Games track at Warsaw Film School in Poland, runs in English over three years. Yearly tuition is 4500 EUR. The program blends academic theory with practical training, aiming to give students the range of skills needed to work in the competitive film and video game industries. Students act as different crew members on each other's productions, rotating through roles such as director, cinematographer, actor, producer, and game designer, building hands-on experience meant to prepare them for entering the field. Coursework spans directing theory and creative workshops, the language of film and visualization, dramaturgy and scriptwriting, camera operation, directing of game trailers, lighting for film, film editing, sound recording on set, production management, visual culture and anthropology, script development, documentary filmmaking, staging, level design, screenwriting for interactive media, music in film, art and film history, including the history of Polish film, director-actor collaboration, interactive fiction, marketing within the games industry, copyright law, and directing for game cutscenes and virtual reality. Students also study Polish language and workplace health and safety as part of the program. An international multimedia creation strand runs alongside the core curriculum. Graduates from film-directing and game-focused programs typically pursue roles such as director, assistant director, game designer, cinematic director, or production coordinator across the film and interactive entertainment industries, both in Poland and abroad, drawing on the cross-disciplinary skills built across directing, writing, and technical production work.
