Graduates of the Automated Manufacturing Engineering BEng (Hons) move into roles such as automation engineer, robotics specialist, process engineer or design engineer in sectors including aerospace, automotive, energy and advanced manufacturing. Employers include major regional companies like Jaguar Land Rover and firms developing electric vehicles and battery production. The degree also provides a route toward Incorporated Engineer (IEng) registration and, with further study, Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

A distinctive feature of the programme is the hands-on training in the Advanced Manufacturing Festo facility at Camden House, where students programme robots, operate PLCs and work with digital twins. The curriculum is built around a 48-week optional industrial placement that can be taken between the second and final year, giving students real-world experience in smart factories.
