Aviation Management covers the business and operational side of the air transport industry, including airline operations, airport management, aviation safety and regulation, and air transport economics. Students take courses in general management subjects such as finance, marketing, and human resources alongside aviation-specific topics, preparing them for roles across airlines, airports, and related organizations in the aviation sector. The curriculum typically also covers air transport law, aviation policy, and international aviation agreements, giving students an understanding of the regulatory environment in which airlines and airports operate. Courses on airport operations and ground handling introduce students to the logistics involved in moving passengers and cargo safely and efficiently. Many programs include coursework on aviation safety management systems, reflecting the importance of risk management throughout the industry. Case studies drawn from airline and airport operations are a common teaching tool, helping students connect management theory to the practical challenges faced by aviation organizations. Some programs also offer opportunities for internships or site visits to airports and airline operations centers, giving students direct exposure to the industry. Graduates of aviation management programs pursue careers with airlines, airports, ground handling companies, aviation authorities, and related organizations, applying both their general management training and their aviation-specific knowledge. The program is taught in English and takes 4 years to complete, leading to a bachelor's degree from Turkish Aeronautical Association University in Ankara, Turkey.
