Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Computer Engineering

Tuition fees are 55,500 AED per year.

Electronics and computer engineering combines hardware-focused electronics with the software and systems knowledge associated with computer engineering. This Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Computer Engineering is offered by Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani (Bits Pilani) Dubai Campus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, taught in English. The discipline typically covers subjects such as digital and analog electronics, computer architecture, embedded systems, microprocessors, operating systems, programming and networks, supported by foundational mathematics and physics. Students usually develop skills across both hardware and software domains, learning to design circuits and systems while also programming the software that runs on them, an increasingly important combination as devices become more connected and computationally capable. Practical coursework often involves working with development boards, programming languages, circuit design tools and embedded system platforms. Graduates from this field pursue careers as embedded systems engineer, hardware engineer, firmware developer, systems engineer or electronics design engineer, with opportunities across consumer electronics, telecommunications, automotive systems, industrial automation and the broader technology sector. The rise of connected devices and smart systems has increased demand for engineers who understand both the electronic hardware and the software layers of modern products, a combination this discipline is designed to provide. In the United Arab Emirates, this skill set is relevant to sectors ranging from telecommunications and consumer electronics to smart infrastructure initiatives. The program also offers a foundation for further postgraduate study in areas such as embedded systems, computer engineering or electronics design. As a bachelor's-level program taught in English, the degree builds integrated hardware and software competence applicable across a wide range of engineering roles. This program is accredited by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation.
