Bachelor of Science in Data Science

Tuition fees are 57,960 AED per year.

Data science is the interdisciplinary field that draws on statistics, computer science and applied mathematics to turn raw data into usable insight, and it forms the focus of the Bachelor of Science in Data Science at Saint Joseph University Dubai, based in Dubai. Students in this discipline build a foundation in statistics and probability, programming, data structures, databases and algorithms, then apply these tools to the practical tasks of collecting, cleaning, analyzing and modeling data. Typical subjects include machine learning, data mining, data visualization, applied statistics and the software platforms commonly used across the data science industry. Students learn to identify patterns within large datasets, build predictive models and translate technical findings into insights that support decisions in areas such as business, healthcare, finance and public policy. Coursework often addresses topics such as big data processing, data ethics and the responsible use of personal and organizational data, alongside applied projects where students work with real or realistic datasets to solve analytical problems. Because the field blends computational skill with statistical reasoning, undergraduate programs in data science typically emphasize both rigorous quantitative training and the communication skills needed to present findings to audiences without a technical background. Students also gain exposure to how data science is applied across different industries, since the underlying techniques of the field are used wherever organizations collect and rely on data. Graduates commonly pursue careers as data analysts, junior data scientists, business intelligence analysts or research assistants across technology, banking, retail, healthcare and consulting sectors, or continue into further study in data science, statistics or computer science. Delivered in English, the program is offered at Saint Joseph University Dubai, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is accredited by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation.
