The Bachelor in Chinese BLCC + TJU Scholarship Program is a four-year bachelor's degree program. It's for students who want to study Chinese language and culture in China. The program starts with a year of Chinese preparation at Beijing Language and Culture College, followed by three years at Tianjin University.

This program will help you develop your Chinese language skills, including reading, writing, and speaking. You'll also learn about Chinese culture and history, and get to practice your skills in a real-life setting.

After completing this program, you can work as a Chinese language teacher, translator, or interpreter. You can also work in international business, tourism, or diplomacy, using your Chinese language skills to help companies or organizations communicate with Chinese clients or partners. Other possible job titles include international marketing manager, cultural consultant, or foreign affairs specialist.

Tianjin University, founded in 1895 and located in the heart of Tianjin, is one of China’s historic and research-focused institutions. With around 36,000 students and over 2,000 international students, the university offers a broad portfolio of 287 programs across engineering, sciences, humanities and management. Its long legacy as a former Peiyang University and status as an early national key university make it a strong choice for students seeking rigorous academics within a dynamic urban setting.

Academics at Tianjin University emphasize research, practical skills and international exchange. The School of International Education coordinates degree and Chinese language programs for short and long term learners, while many departments maintain partnerships with industry and overseas universities. Campus life is active, with numerous student organizations, sports facilities, cultural events and interdisciplinary activities that create a supportive environment for learning and personal growth.

For international applicants, TJU provides clear online admissions guidance, scholarship opportunities and on campus housing in You Yuan and Liu Yuan dormitories. Living costs in Tianjin tend to be lower than in Beijing and Shanghai, and the city’s strong industrial base and proximity to Beijing mean plentiful internship and employment prospects. Practical services such as visa support, student counseling and career centers help international students settle in and pursue study to career pathways.
