About the Program

The Master's programme in Battery Technologies at Kiel University of Applied Sciences is application-oriented and covers the complete life cycle of battery systems. The focus is on developing the ability to apply existing knowledge to both familiar and novel problems, to independently acquire new skills, and to evaluate scientific findings and apply them in practice. Students also develop the capacity to conduct practical research independently. The programme runs over 3 semesters and is available for entry in either the winter or summer semester. Each module generally carries 5 credit points (CP), with project work worth 10 CP and the Master's thesis worth 25 CP. Part of the programme takes place at partner institutions Kiel University (CAU) and Fraunhofer ISIT in Itzehoe. The programme can be pursued alongside employment, with an individual study plan available for module attendance and examinations, which may extend the total study duration. The programme is scheduled to begin for the first time in the winter semester 2026/27 at Kiel University of Applied Sciences in Kiel, Germany.
