If you have strong grades in mathematics and a science or engineering subject and want to develop practical engineering skills, this three-year BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering degree offers a hands-on route into design and manufacturing. From the first semester you will use industry-standard CAD, CAM, CFD and FEA tools, and you will take part in a guaranteed professional placement that gives you real-world experience before you graduate.

The programme is split into three stages. Years one and two focus on core engineering principles and project work, building a portfolio of design and analysis assignments. In the final year you manufacture functional components with metal 3D printing, complete a major innovation project and present it at the Innovations Unleashed showcase. Throughout, small-group tutorials, dedicated maths support and continuous industry interaction support your progress.
