Bachelor in BEng Industrial Engineering

The BEng Industrial Engineering at Deggendorf Institute of Technology develops cross-sectional expertise across engineering and business administration, with a specific focus on complex industrial and energy-related environments. Students gain subject-specific, methodological, and social skills, and the programme incorporates intercultural and international dimensions, including language training across all four study years. The programme runs over 7 semesters and starts in the winter semester, with six academic semesters and one practical semester designated in the sixth semester. The first two semesters cover foundational engineering and business subjects including mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics, technical mechanics, and accounting. Semesters three and four introduce applied engineering and management modules such as fundamentals of electrical engineering, intercultural management, sustainability, logistics, energy technology, and measurement and control engineering. Semester five covers process safety, plant engineering, renewable energies, and project work. Semester seven includes three compulsory elective courses drawn from engineering topics such as process engineering, data acquisition, industrial automation, and energy efficiency, or business topics such as energy markets, business planning, and operational processes, followed by the Bachelor's thesis. The thesis may be written in German or English. Graduates are awarded the Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree. The programme is taught at the European Campus Rottal-Inn in Pfarrkirchen, Germany, at Deggendorf Institute of Technology.
