The Master's in Biochemistry at the University of Tübingen takes a broad, flexible approach to life science education, covering a selection of topics including immunology, cell biology, molecular and structural biology, biophysics, virology and microbiology, pathobiochemistry, toxicology, pharmacology, bioinformatics, developmental biology, neuroscience, and molecular medicine. The programme emphasises practical laboratory skills alongside theoretical knowledge and does not push students toward premature specialisation. The programme runs over 4 semesters and can start in either the winter or summer semester. The typical structure moves through advanced biochemistry lectures, current topics modules, guided experimental modules, individual lab placements, and finally a half-year Master's thesis. Lab rotations abroad in Europe, North America, and Asia are available with faculty support. The programme is taught in English and includes writing and presentation courses.
