About the Program

The Master's programme in Biotechnology at Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg is an intensive, laboratory-based, research-oriented programme running either three or four semesters. The three-semester track starts in the summer semester and follows a Bachelor's of seven semesters; the four-semester track starts in the winter semester and follows a Bachelor's of six semesters. The programme is conducted on the campus in Senftenberg. Students choose one of four specialisations: Cell Biology, Microbiology, Bioanalytics, or Laboratory Diagnostics. A maximum of eight study places are offered in each specialisation. Teaching across all specialisations is in English, combining lectures, seminars, and laboratory courses. After completing the taught semesters, students undertake a five-month thesis project involving experimental work under faculty supervision, which may be carried out at an external research institute or company. The programme is offered at Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg in Senftenberg, Germany.
