The Blasting Techniques program at Fleming College is a non-degree program for students who want to work in the explosives industry. This program takes one semester to complete and helps students develop skills to work in challenging environments.

Students will learn about explosives, blasthole drilling, blasting theory, and safety procedures through hands-on training and labs. They will also study geology, mathematics, and communications to prepare them for their career.

Graduates of this program can work as blasters, drillers, or blasting technicians in construction, mining, or drilling and blasting companies. They can also work in the special effects industry or as safety inspectors.
