About the Program

The University of Suffolk's BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing programme, approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), prepares students to become registered nurses with the £15m Health and Wellbeing building on the Ipswich campus, which offers state-of-the-art facilities for clinical simulation and immersive learning. This three-year full-time course reflects contemporary, emerging global and local health needs, embedding core NHS values to improve the care of adult patients.

With learning split 50/50 between theory and practice, as an adult nursing student you will complete clinical [placements](https://www.uos.ac.uk/nmph-placements/#d.en.57695) throughout your course to develop the essential clinical skills and gain experience in a variety of practice settings. With dedicated practice supervisions and assessors to support you with placements across a range of specialisms including community nursing, acute wards in NHS Trust Hospitals and voluntary/private sectors.

Becoming a registered nurse allows for versatility in careers beyond adult nursing, such as further training for midwifery, health visiting, and school nursing. Upon completion, graduates meet the requirements for first level entry to the NMC Professional Register.
