The programme is organised across three academic years (Level 4, 5 and 6). In the first year you build a foundation in anatomy, physiology and basic communication science, supplemented by introductory placement experience. The second year deepens clinical knowledge and includes two further placements, while the final year focuses on professional practice and a major placement that prepares you for registration.

Throughout the course you attend lectures, practical labs and simulated clinics, and you complete over 600 hours of supervised placements in NHS, private, education and community settings. You develop assessment and intervention skills for children, adults and swallowing disorders, and you work alongside registered clinicians using immersive simulation rooms.
