This 32-week certificate program prepares for a career in carpentry in construction, renovation, and maintenance. It covers using tools, reading construction documents, and gaining hands-on experience in site layout, framing, roofing, and finishing. The program is offered at Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, and Saskatoon campuses.

Most time is spent in well-equipped workshops building practical skills. A two-week work placement at the end of the program provides real-world experience and often leads to full-time jobs. Classes run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with 10 to 12 hours of homework each week. Projects are done in teams, and learning comes from certified journeypersons.

Admission requires Grade 10 or Grade 11 with specific math courses and an English language requirement. Applicants without formal qualifications may be considered through alternative admission using ACCUPLACER scores. The program accepts 28 students at Moose Jaw and 24 at Prince Albert each year.
