Child and Youth Care

Students complete theory-based courses and hands-on practicum experiences in child and youth care. They engage in trauma-informed practices and develop strength-based communication skills. They observe the effects of adverse childhood experiences on young people and families. They implement activities to build resilience and support positive change. They learn to meet diverse needs through culturally sensitive responses.

4 terms, 600 hours of work experience from three practicums.

Graduates enter roles as child and youth care workers in non-profit sectors and government departments.

No specific prior education or grades stated. English language proficiency required for international students.
