Child & Family Studies

The Child & Family Studies program at Bedford College is a 2-year foundation degree for individuals working in childcare. It combines theory and practice to enhance skills and knowledge in child welfare.

The curriculum covers child development, interagency approaches, and management. Students engage in modules like Law, Society and Controversy, and Researching Children and Family Practice, with a minimum of 14 hours of placement each week.

Graduates can pursue roles like Child Welfare Officer, Family Support Worker, and Early Years Practitioner in social and human services, education, and community services, with skills transferable across multiple sectors.
