Bachelor in Childrens Nursing Foundation Reading

At University of West London, tuition fees are 16,750 GBP per year.

Students on this programme begin their journey in a high-tech, immersive environment, utilising state-of-the-art simulation centres equipped with virtual reality to bridge the gap between theoretical study and real-world paediatric practice. Specifically designed for those who may not meet the standard entry requirements for direct entry to a three-year degree, the foundation year acts as a scaffold, building essential academic skills, biological understanding, and core nursing competencies before students transition into clinical placements.

Integrated Clinical Immersion

The course is deeply rooted in the practical demands of the NHS, benefiting from partnerships with the Royal Berkshire Hospital and other local healthcare providers. By the time students reach the final years, they are fully integrated into multidisciplinary teams, learning to manage complex physical, mental, and cognitive care needs. The curriculum emphasizes evidence-based practice and emotional intelligence, ensuring graduates are not only clinically proficient but also resilient advocates for the children and families they serve. The programme is fully approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), providing a direct pathway to professional registration as a children’s nurse.
