At Ruhr-Universität Bochum, applications are due 15 Dec, and tuition is No tuition fees; 380 EUR/semester.

The Master's degree programme in Computer Science at Ruhr-Universität Bochum runs over 4 semesters and is designed to provide in-depth, specialised training in computer science. Students deepen their knowledge across five specialisation areas: Design, Implementation, and Analysis of Computer Systems; Algorithms, Complexity, and Data; Computer Security; Software Engineering and Programming Languages; and Artificial Intelligence. The programme totals 120 credit points, distributed across foundational modules (minimum 15 CP), a specialisation area including seminars and practical courses (minimum 35 CP), a research-oriented project (10 CP), a free elective area drawn from across the university alliance (20 CP), and a master's thesis (30 CP). The project phase is closely linked to research at individual chairs, and the thesis requires students to independently work on a computer science problem using scientific methods within six months and present findings at a colloquium. Scientific work through seminars, practical courses, and project work forms a central part of the programme's approach. The programme is offered at Ruhr-Universität Bochum in Bochum, Germany.
