This programme prepares students to support clients with physical and cognitive impairments in long-term care and home care settings. Students learn personal care, communication, and safety practices for vulnerable populations. The curriculum includes classroom learning, lab work, and two clinical placements. Graduates work under supervision in healthcare environments with older adults and individuals with chronic conditions.

Four years to complete; includes classroom instruction, lab work, and two 6-week clinical placements; part-time delivery available.

Graduates work as continuing care assistants, special care aides, or home health care workers in long-term care, home care, or acute care settings.

Grade 12 or 15 post-secondary credits; minimum age 18 by December 31 of admission year; English language requirement; criminal record check and vulnerable sector search; First Aid and CPR Level C; immunizations; N95 mask testing; WHMIS certification; TLR and PART certification; co-op work permit for international applicants; ACCUPLACER scores required for alternative admission.

On-campus or part-time distance learning; full-time or part-time; duration up to four years.
