Control, Microsystems, Microelectronics (CMM) is a four-semester master's programme at the University of Bremen that combines compulsory and elective courses in electrical engineering, control systems, microsystems, and communications technology. Core courses include Advanced Digital System Design, BioMEMS, Control Theory 1, Integrated Circuits, Process Automation in Power Grids, and Sensors and Measurement Systems, alongside supporting laboratory work. The programme runs for three semesters of lectures, exercises, seminars, and laboratory courses, with the fourth semester devoted to the Master's thesis. Students may also choose elective courses from a range including Robotics, Microsystems, Channel Coding, Advanced Digital Communications, Advanced Control Theory, Digital Electronics and Microsystems Technology Design Techniques, Next Generation Mobile Communication Systems, Sensor Science, and Internet of Things. A project assignment spanning half a semester requires students to produce scientific work, a written report, and an oral presentation. Five cooperating institutes are responsible for programme organisation, spanning automation, electrical drives, microsensors, telecommunications, and electromagnetic theory. The programme starts in the summer semester and is based at the University of Bremen in Bremen, Germany.
