Immerse yourself in the vibrant community of the Leicester Centre for Creative Writing, where your development as a writer is supported by published authors and experienced practitioners. This programme is built around a practice-led philosophy, encouraging you to refine your existing craft while venturing into new forms—from traditional fiction and poetry to digital narratives and writing for games.

A core strength of the course is its focus on the 'iceberg' of creative production: the extensive research, theoretical grounding, and intellectual labour that underpins every finished piece. You will learn to articulate your own creative preoccupations, providing you with the professional language necessary for author talks, grant applications, and industry pitching. Whether you aim to pursue a PhD or forge a career in the publishing, pedagogical, or creative industries, this MA equips you with the tools to navigate and influence the contemporary writing landscape.
