Diploma in Criminology

This programme prepares students to enter the criminal justice field. It focuses on the Canadian justice system and its challenges. No prior study is required to apply. The programme accepts new students and career changers.

Students study core topics such as policing, corrections, criminal law, and the legal system. Courses include psychology, sociology, philosophy, and English. Learning happens through lectures, group discussions, debates, and written assignments. Full-time and part-time study options are available at the Coquitlam or New Westminster campuses.

Graduation requires 60 credits. At least 30 credits must be earned at Douglas College. An optional co-op programme offers paid, full-time work experience in the field. After graduation, students can pursue further education or begin careers in government, non-profits, or law enforcement.
