About the Program

Data Science at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt is a four-semester master's programme that combines theoretical foundations with practical applications in modern data analysis and machine learning. The programme focuses on four areas: data analytics and operations research, weather and climate research, the mathematical foundations of data science, and the interface between data-based and model-based modelling. Core mandatory modules include Mathematics of Data Science, Operations Research, Principles of Data Science or Principles of Machine Learning, Database Management, and an Applied Data Science Project. Students also complete mandatory elective courses in Ethics and Law, 15 ECTS in mathematics or statistics electives, four elective modules from any area of data science or its applications, and one transdisciplinary elective module. The programme concludes with a Master's thesis. Entry is in the winter semester. The programme is offered at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt in Ingolstadt, Germany.
