Dental Assisting

Tuition is $16,190 for the 2026-27 academic year.

The program is grounded in evidence-based dental practices and theory-to-practice training. Students learn to support dentists and other oral health professionals in clinical settings. They develop skills in chair-side assistance, patient education, and office operations. Training includes hands-on practice in a supervised dental clinic environment.

One-year full-time program with 65 students admitted annually. Includes clinical experience in a campus dental clinic and four weeks of practicum in actual dental practices. Weekly lab and classroom instruction with 30-40 hours of homework outside class time.

Graduates are qualified to work as registered dental assistants in private offices, community health clinics, educational facilities, and healthcare institutions.

Grade 12 with minimum 70% in Biology 30, a 30-level English Language Arts, and the highest grade in either Foundations of Math 20, Foundations of Math 30, or Pre-Calculus 30. Alternative admission available through ACCUPLACER with specific cut scores. Standard First Aid and CPR Level C with AED required before start. WHMIS GHS certification, criminal record check, vulnerable sector check, and immunization records must be provided.

On-campus, full-time, 1 year duration.
