About the Program

Graduates from the PhD in Development of a Framework for IoT Forensics go on to careers in cybersecurity, digital forensics, and academia, with opportunities in both the public and private sectors. Your work will be based in the School of Computing, supervised by Dr Mo Adda, Dr Alex Gegov, and Dr Rinat Khusainov, and you'll have access to the University of Portsmouth Forensic Lab.

You'll work on a 3-year full-time or 6-year part-time project focusing on machine learning, fuzzy logic, and formal methods, aiming to develop a generic framework for IoT forensics. This framework will be designed to operate in international contexts, handling investigations, imaging, analysis, and reporting, and standing as an expert witness in court. The project builds on existing work, including a Hybrid Forensic IoT Server model and a database tested at the University of Portsmouth Forensic Lab.
