Bachelor in Digital Game Design

Digital game design brings together creative and technical disciplines to study how interactive games are conceived, designed, and produced. Students explore game mechanics, level design, narrative structure, and player experience alongside technical coursework in programming, game engines, and digital art or animation tools used in game production. The curriculum typically balances design theory, such as how rules and feedback systems shape player engagement, with hands-on project work in which students build playable game prototypes individually and in teams. As the program advances, students often specialize further in areas such as game programming, visual design, or production management, while continuing to develop a portfolio of game projects that demonstrates their design and technical abilities. Graduates pursue careers as game designers, level designers, game programmers, and producers within the game development industry, as well as roles in interactive media, simulation, and related digital entertainment fields. This bachelor's program spans 4 years of full-time study, taught in English, at Eastern Mediterranean University in Gazimağusa, Northern Cyprus in Gazimağusa, Northern Cyprus. Learning digital game design in an English-medium program gives students access to industry-standard game development tools, documentation, and communities that operate largely in English internationally. Throughout the 4-year curriculum, coursework progresses from foundational design and technical skills toward more advanced, project-based work, preparing students to enter a global game development industry with both creative and technical capabilities.
