Doctoral Programme in Exact Sciences

The Doctoral Programme in Exact Sciences (EXACTUS) at the University of Turku covers a broad set of disciplines within the Faculty of Science: applied mathematics, astronomy, chemistry, learning analytics, materials science, mathematics, physics, statistics, and theoretical physics. The doctoral degree comprises a doctoral thesis and its public defence, together with postgraduate studies worth 40 ECTS credits. The workload corresponds to approximately three to four years of full-time study. Part-time completion of the academic postgraduate degree is also possible. The programme is offered at the University of Turku in Turku, Finland, with an intake starting in September 2026.
