This full-time diploma program is delivered over four semesters on campus in Coquitlam. It combines the Certificate in Early Childhood Education and the Certificate in Special Needs. Students learn to work with children from newborns to eight years old in licensed child-care centres. The program includes online learning options and a practicum in an early childhood education setting. Students also participate in the Children Teaching Teachers method, where children lead learning activities.

Focus areas include Special Needs, Infant/Toddler.

Four semesters, 60 credits, includes a practicum, part-time option available over six semesters.

Graduates are eligible to work as early childhood educators, special needs educators, or infant/toddler educators in licensed child-care centres.

Applicants must be 18 by December 31 of the year they enter. Two letters of reference from non-relatives are required. A criminal record check and medical declaration are required. Applicants must complete 20 hours of volunteer or work experience in a licensed ECE setting. A minimum GPA of 1.5 is required for those with 9 or more post-secondary credits. English proficiency is required.

On-campus, full-time or part-time, two years for full-time, three years for part-time.
