About the Program

The Master's programme in Econometrics is a two-year joint degree offered by TU Dortmund University, Ruhr University Bochum, and the University of Duisburg-Essen. Graduates receive a joint degree from all three universities. The programme is aimed at students with a quantitative background who hold a BSc in economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline. It runs over four semesters and can begin in either the winter or summer semester. The curriculum comprises five core modules and four elective modules, including a six-month Master's thesis. Core courses cover statistical theory, econometrics, time series analysis, project management, consulting, and applied research. Elective modules and seminars allow students to specialise in areas such as health economics or financial econometrics. The programme also offers an optional IMPACT Programme — a master's preparation course providing academic and administrative support before the start of the degree.
