The program is grounded in research and theory related to child development and inclusive education. Students learn to support diverse learners in classroom and community settings. They develop skills in literacy, numeracy, behaviour management, and special needs support. Practical experience is gained through two supervised practicum placements.

Graduates work as educational assistants in public, private, charter, and independent schools, as well as community-based learning environments.

High school diploma or equivalent with 50% in English 30-1 or English 30-2. Mature students (21+) must meet the same requirements or pass the College Entrance Assessment. English language proficiency required: TOEFL iBT 79 (no less than 19), IELTS Academic 6.5 (no less than 6.0), CAEL 60, MELAB 80, Duolingo 100, PTE Academic 50.
