Electrical Engineering is a master's program taught in English at Politecnico di Torino, in Torino, Italy, running for 2 years. This branch of engineering focuses on the generation, transmission, and use of electrical energy, as well as the design of electrical and electronic systems and devices. Students typically study circuit theory, electromagnetics, and power systems, alongside subjects such as control systems, electronics, and signal processing. Coursework often extends into more specialized areas including renewable energy systems, power electronics, and smart grid technologies, reflecting the growing role of electrical engineering in the transition toward cleaner energy sources. Because electrical systems underpin so much of modern infrastructure, students also encounter applications in areas such as industrial automation, telecommunications, and electric vehicle technology, learning how electrical principles apply across very different sectors. Graduates commonly pursue careers as design engineers, power systems engineers, and electronics engineers, working across industries such as energy, automotive, telecommunications, and industrial automation. Others move into research and development roles focused on renewable energy technologies or power electronics, while some take on positions in grid management or technical consulting. Some continue toward doctoral research in electrical engineering or a related technical field, given the strong analytical foundation the program provides. The breadth of electrical engineering means graduates can work on problems ranging from large-scale power infrastructure to small electronic devices, making it a versatile qualification within the engineering sector. Delivered in English in Torino, a city with a long-standing reputation in engineering education, the program is designed for students who already hold a first degree in electrical engineering or a related field and want to build further specialization over a 2-year master's course.
