Electrician Apprenticeship

This programme is a four-year apprenticeship delivered on-campus with classroom instruction and on-the-job training. Students learn to install, alter, repair, and maintain electrical systems. The programme combines eight to ten weeks of on-campus classes each year with extensive hands-on work experience. Graduates receive a Journeyperson Certificate and an education credential.

Four years with 1,560 hours of on-the-job training in years one and two, and 1,440 hours in years three and four. Eight weeks of classroom instruction in years one and two, ten weeks in years three and four.

Graduates enter roles such as electrician, lead hand, foreperson, estimator, project manager, operations manager, or branch manager.

ELA 30-2, Math 30-3, Physics 30, Chem 30, or Science 30, or minimum ELA 20-2, Math 20-3, Science 10, or pass on all five Canadian GED tests, or successful completion of AIT’s entrance exam.

On-campus, full-time, four years.
