Insulin pumps, dishwashers, solar plants, high-speed trains and modern sewing machines all share something in common: they function due to multiple mini-computers embedded within them. These embedded systems enable washing machines to consume less energy and water, cars to run on less fuel, wheels to avoid spinning out, and airbags to deploy on time. The Saarland University's Master's programme in Embedded Systems, which can be completed in four semesters, delves into these tiny yet powerful systems.
