The programme benefits from the Birmingham Centre for Cryogenic Energy Storage, the UK’s first research facility dedicated to energy storage with cryogenic liquids, offering students hands-on experience in cutting-edge laboratory work and access to a large demonstration plant. Integrated with this facility is a compulsory industrial year, during which students undertake a placement with leading energy and chemicals companies such as BP, EDF, Unilever and Jaguar Land Rover, gaining practical skills and professional contacts.
