English as a Second or Other Language

The English as a Second or Other Language (ESOL) program is designed for individuals aged 16 to 18 who wish to improve their English language skills. This full-time course is perfect for students who are at beginner to upper-intermediate levels. It offers a welcoming environment that promotes integration and inclusivity, allowing students to build confidence in speaking, writing, and reading English.

Students will engage in core modules that include reading, writing, speaking, listening, and maths. The curriculum is tailored to develop essential language skills alongside personal and social development. Assessments are conducted through practical tasks, ensuring that students are prepared for nationally recognized qualifications when they are ready.

Upon successful completion of the Level 1 provision, students can progress to other vocational or academic areas within the college. This opens up various career pathways or opportunities for higher education. Graduates may find roles in customer service, administration, or further studies in fields that require strong communication skills.
